Brown Hill Boswell

Brown “Hill” Boswell- loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024, in Auburn, Alabama.
Hill was born to Brown Hill Boswell and Mary Blan in New Orleans on July 31st, 1941. Hill grew up in the Cloverdale area of Montgomery, Alabama. Later he would move to Auburn, where he attended Auburn High School and later graduated from Auburn University. After marrying Patricia Hobbs of Southern Pines, North Carolina they relocated to North Carolina to attend UNC Law school. Hill’s academic pursuits were paralleled by his commitment to national service, as he served his country in the Naval Reserves.
Hill began a successful legal career in Charlotte, N.C. He became part of the practice of Blakeney, Alexander and Machen, where he later became partner. Hill was known for his sharp intellect and unwavering ethics. Hill continued his love of practicing law in South Florida, where he later retired to begin a new chapter in his career. Hill and his family relocated to Naples, Florida where his passion for golf led him to open a golf retail store. World of Golf was part of Hill’s life for 26 years and was named one of the top ten golf retail stores in the United States. World of Golf was Hill’s passion and over the years he made thousands of friends from all over the world.
Beyond his professional life, Hill was a loving husband to Patti Boswell and a dedicated father to David and Elizabeth Boswell. He was also a caring father-in-law to Nicole and wonderful grandfather to Sally. Hill’s family circle included his Stepfather Edward L. Kitchens, brother, Bobby Boswell, (Diane) sister K.K. Kitchens, sister Judy (Nim) Frazer along with his beloved nieces and nephews, George Myrick, Robert Boswell, Nimrod Frazer and Mary Blan Frazer Moore.
Hill will be remembered for his love of family, service to his country and love for the outdoors. His interests and personality touched the lives of many, whether he was hunting, fishing or out enjoying a round of golf.
A celebration to honor Hill’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 26th at 11:00 am at the home of David and Nicole Boswell in Auburn. His life’s impact and memory will forever resonate with those who knew him.
