Donald Earl Campbell

 

August 30, 1946 – January 21, 2020

Donald Earl Campbell of Alexander City passed away at Emory University Hospital on January 21, 2020 at the age of 73.

Don was preceded in death by the late Joe and Katherine (Rogers) Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Moore Campbell; sons, Robert Clayton, John Preston (Meg), and Bryan Patrick Campbell (Melinda), grandchildren, Ellie, Leena, Reagan, and Bryson Campbell; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Don worked at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and The University of Pennsylvania for 33 years. He invented cancer medication for women that helped prevent nausea during chemo. He was vice president of the Pike Fraternity and a member of the Beta Beta Beta Society. He performed sleep studies for the United States Airforce in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He traveled to Italy and Canada to promote Children’s Hospital. Don was a Christian and peaceful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
